The Homan formation bug is still around, and so is the "gun barrel appears before ship" bug - the Homan's gun shows up in the jumpout animation before the ship does.
The formation bug is when the main weapons are triggered, one ship is ejected from the formation and moves independently, while the rest of the formation either gets stuck or has choppy movement. I have a hunch it might be related to the "gun before ship" issue somehow, but it definitely happens only with the Homan.
Now I'll try with the Blackbird.
edit: Formation targetting is a bit wonky, especially since ships don't seem to retarget after the target is destroyed (by missiles?) and moving around seems to break target lock.
The reason I found this out is a happy one, though, missile gameplay is quite fun even at this early stage, trying to get enough separation to fire while the enemy targets the "birds" and follows them along is fairly challenging. While in formation, two missiles hit each other when launched, though, that wasn't so practical.
AI still doesn't use missiles or other specials, is there any timeline to implementing that? I imagine that also needs some stress testing.
